FAQ

Aphids:

What to do when you get aphids on the milkweed.

Every year you will get Oleander aphids on your plants. They only infest Oleanders and Milkweed, not your other plants. They don't harm Milkweed much in small numbers. If the infestation gets really bad they might stunt the growth of the plant and turn the leaves yellow. The best way to manage the aphids is by pinching them between your fingers or hosing the plant down being careful not to dislodge any caterpillars or eggs.  You will find them mostly on the flowers.  If the infestation is caught in its early stage not much else needs to be done. Do not use insecticidal sprays, soaps or oils!
